About
Hui is a yoga teacher, travel enthusiast and animal lover. Yoga has been part of her life since early adulthood, but soon after leaving the corporate world in 2009, she traveled to India and spent some time soaking up new cultures and experiencing life in a yoga ashram.
Upon her return, she made a decision to devote herself to sharing the joy of yoga with others. Hui has completed 2 Yoga Teacher Training Courses and regularly attends workshops and advanced classes to improve her knowledge in this field.
When not teaching or practising yoga, Hui spends time reading and writing her blog. Hui currently conducts private, group and corporate yoga classes in Kuala Lumpur and also organises yoga retreats around Malaysia.
THE STUDENTS SAY…
“I attended Hui’s yoga classes for 10 months whilst I was staying in Malaysia based on a reccommendation from a friend. I felt immedietly welcome in the group, a group of people with differing capabilities, but all equally passionate about yoga, a passion that I very quickly adopted myself. After even just a few classes I started noticing improvments in my flexibility and a real boost in my sense of well being. When the second class ‘alignment’ was introduced on Thursdays I didn’t think twice about attending those too. I have been on 4 yoga retreats organised by Hui. The retreats offer a combination of organised activities, yoga classes tailored to the skill level of the group, and personal relaxation time. After working long hours and most weekends during my time in KL I found myself returning from each retreat feeling relaxed, energised and refreshed. Yoga is truly rewarding, and Hui’s friendly, relaxed and professional approach to the dicipline is what I believe has made my personal experience the greatest.”- Sarah Kuwertz (United Kingdom)
“I was looking for a weekend trip where I could go abroad and get back into yoga. I came across Hui’s website and from my inital comment she emailed back immediately and even offered for me to stay at her house when I flew in very late on the Friday. We had a brilliant group and it felt like a real adventure that Hui had organised seamlessly. It was great to have a weekend of sun sea, yoga, great food good people and activities in between. I felt I got back into yoga and had a brilliant refreshing break which made me feel amazing when I arrived back to work the following week. I would highly recommend Hui. She was so lovely and really helpful for the yoga which I was truly a beginner but it really didn’t matter and felt a real improvement by the last session.” – Belinda Noel (Hong Kong)
“I love yoga and just can’t live without it. I am more flexible and feel much more energetic now since I took up yoga regularly. Hui has so much passion and dedication when she teaches. It’s hard to find a good teacher so I feel lucky and thankful to have found Hui.” – Jamie Pang (Taman Melawati, Kuala Lumpur)
“I always look forward to Hui’s yoga class on Tue evening. Although it’s just once a week, I benefit so much from each class. I don’t have that regular neck and shoulder aches anymore and I feel more relaxed and sleep better after the yoga session. She gives personal attention to every student, understands their strengths and weaknesses and focuses on correcting their poses gently without pushing them too hard. She encourages her students to do their best and stresses a balanced lifestyle.” – Goh Bin Ly (Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur)
“I attend Hui’s Ashtanga Yoga class and absolutely enjoy it – from engaging the first Ujjayi breath right up until relaxing in Savasana. Hui gives clear instructions and adjusts each student whenever necessary during the session. She is always mindful of new students and gives them options whenever teaching difficult poses. I have been practicing yoga for more than 6 years and Hui is among the best instructors I have ever come across.” – Ariffatri bin Mohammad (Kepong, Kuala Lumpur)
“Fun-filled class with dedicated guidance.” – Jonathan Ong (Kepong, Kuala Lumpur)
“I feel rejuvenated after every class. Hui is a very patient instructor and pays great attention to each student. I can be sure that if I do not get my body aligned for certain poses, Hui will be there to correct them , hence optimizing the benefits of each pose. Furthermore because the classes are held at the condo where I’m staying, there is just no stress about traffic jams! ” – Hui Ling (Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur)
“I would recommend Hui to anyone interested in yoga. Beginners like me were made to feel comfortable under her excellent guidance. She gives her best personal attention to each student in a group class. She gently guides and challenges us through yoga sequences and is innovative in her usage of yoga belts and blocks during the more difficult poses. Her attention to detail has encouraged and enabled me to experience growth in my yoga practice. After each practice, I would leave feeling lighter, stronger and more flexible.” – Irene Ng (Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur)
“A fantastic teacher who is both patient and technical; with an eye for detail. Hui’s versatile in her teaching range and practice styles – she keeps every class challenging enough to explore our limits – but not beyond the point where it’s still fun. I really enjoy her classes.” – Kathleen Choo (TTDI, Kuala Lumpur)
“ユイさんのヨガクラスに入って8ヶ月です。ヨガは初めてなので難しいかと思っていましたが、初心者ができることを丁寧に教えてもらっています。呼吸とゆっくりしたストレッチで体がリラックスしますから、その晩は深い睡眠になります。先生もやさしく親切なので週一回のクラスを楽しみにしています。”-Tomoko (Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur)
Translation: “When I started 8 months ago, I was very worried about doing Yoga as I was a beginner. However, Hui taught us with much patience and kindness. Breathing and stretching helps me relax and I can sleep deeply after Yoga. I enjoy and look forward to her class every week.”
